Adriatic Coast in December
Not the best time
December isn't ideal for Adriatic Coast. Consider a different month.
All Months
May through September offers the warmest weather and longest days, but each month brings trade-offs. May and September provide the best balance – warm enough for swimming, fewer crowds, and shoulder season prices. The sea temperature reaches its peak in August and September, staying warm through October. July and August see the biggest crowds and highest prices, with Dubrovnik and Hvar becoming almost uncomfortably busy. But summer also brings the best nightlife and all attractions operating at full capacity. June offers a sweet spot with warm weather and manageable crowds, plus you'll catch the lavender bloom on Hvar. September extends the season with harvest festivals and still-warm seas, though some island restaurants start closing after mid-month. Winter visits work for exploring cities like Split and Dubrovnik, but most island accommodations and restaurants shut down from November through March.
