Bolivia in September
Great time to visit
September is one of the best months to visit Bolivia.
All Months
May through September is dry season—your best bet for clear skies and passable roads. The salt flats look different depending on season. Dry season gives you the classic white desert with geometric salt patterns. But January through March brings shallow water that creates mirror effects for photos. It's stunning but tours sometimes get cancelled due to flooding. Temperatures swing wildly. Days can hit 20°C but nights drop below freezing, especially on the salt flats. Pack layers. Avoid December through February if you're doing multi-day treks—afternoon thunderstorms are intense. June and July are coldest but have the clearest weather for mountain views.
