April through September offers the sweet spot for exploring. Temperatures hover around 25-30°C during the day, dropping to comfortable sleeping weather at night. May and June are perfect – clear skies, minimal rain, and wildflowers blooming after the wet season. July and August bring the crowds, especially during school holidays, but also guarantee the best weather. September starts heating up but still offers excellent conditions. Avoid October through March – temperatures soar above 40°C, afternoon storms make roads treacherous, and the park often closes completely. Early morning starts are essential any time of year. The light hits the domes beautifully just after sunrise, and you'll beat both the heat and the tour groups.
