April through June gives you warm weather without the crushing crowds. Hotel prices stay reasonable and you can actually move around Positano without getting stuck behind tour groups. May hits the sweet spot — average temperatures around 22°C and everything's open. September and October work beautifully too. The sea stays warm for swimming, restaurants extend their terraces, and you'll get better service since staff aren't overwhelmed. October can be rainy, but when the sun breaks through, the light is incredible for photos. Avoid July and August unless you love crowds and paying double. The Amalfi Coast becomes a parking lot, and Naples gets uncomfortably hot — we're talking 35°C with humidity. Winter has its charm if you're into quiet museums and cheap hotels, but many coastal restaurants close November through March.
