Camps Bay in July

December through March is peak season - and peak chaos. The beach gets absolutely packed, parking is impossible, and restaurant prices spike. But the weather's perfect: 25°C days, minimal wind, and those famous Cape Town sunsets every night. October and November are the sweet spot. Weather's warming up, crowds are manageable, and you'll actually find parking. April's also brilliant - still warm enough for swimming, but the summer crowds have gone home. Avoid June through August unless you love dramatic stormy seas and 15°C weather. The mountain backdrop looks incredible in winter storms, but you won't be doing much beach lounging. Here's the thing about Cape Town's summer winds: they pick up around 2 PM most days. Morning beach sessions are golden, afternoons can get seriously blustery.
