Cardamom Mountains in March
Great time to visit
March is one of the best months to visit Cardamom Mountains.
All Months
November through March offers the sweet spot for Cardamom exploration - dry weather, cooler temperatures, and accessible trails. December and January are peak months when rivers run clear and wildlife gathers around water sources. February brings the driest conditions, perfect for multi-day treks to remote waterfalls. March starts getting hot but remains manageable, especially in higher elevations. The rainy season from May to October transforms the landscape into a green paradise but makes many areas inaccessible. Rivers swell, trails turn muddy, and some lodges close entirely. However, this is when the mountains show their most dramatic side - waterfalls reach full power, and the forest explodes with life. If you can handle the conditions, wet season offers incredible wildlife viewing and fewer crowds. Just be prepared for leeches, muddy boots, and the possibility of getting stranded by flooding.
