Chefchaouen in February
Good time to visit
February is a reasonable time to visit Chefchaouen.
All Months
March through May is perfect - wildflowers bloom in the mountains, temperatures hover around 70°F, and you can hike without melting. September through November offers the same sweet spot with bonus: fewer crowds and clearer mountain views after summer haze clears. Summer gets hot during the day but those mountain evenings are magic - just expect every European tourist to be here too. Winter brings rain and temperatures that dip into the 40s, but also dramatic cloud formations over the Rif Mountains and rock-bottom hotel prices. Avoid July and August unless you enjoy fighting for photo spots and paying peak-season prices. The shoulder seasons give you the best of everything: good weather, reasonable crowds, and locals who have time to chat instead of just processing tourist hordes.
