Cliffs of Moher in June

Great time to visit

June is one of the best months to visit Cliffs of Moher.

All Months

May through September offers the most reliable weather, but each month brings its own character. July and August mean wildflowers in full bloom and puffin nesting season, but also peak crowds and higher accommodation prices. My pick? Early June or late September. The weather stays mild, wildflowers still dot the clifftops, and you'll have space to actually enjoy the views. September particularly shines – the summer crowds thin out, but the Atlantic remains relatively calm. Winter visits can be spectacular if you catch clear weather. The cliffs look more dramatic under grey skies, and you'll practically have the place to yourself. But be prepared for horizontal rain and winds that make walking difficult. Time of day matters as much as season. Golden hour (about an hour before sunset) transforms the cliffs into something magical, with warm light hitting the rock faces. Sunrise visits reward early risers with complete solitude and often the clearest conditions of the day.
