Congo (Republic) in October
Not the best time
October isn't ideal for Congo (Republic). Consider a different month.
All Months
Dry season runs June through August and December through February - this is your window. Roads become passable, wildlife congregates around water sources, and you won't spend every afternoon dodging thunderstorms. July and August offer the best wildlife viewing in Odzala-Kokoua as animals cluster around remaining water holes.
December through February brings slightly more rain but still counts as dry season. Temperatures hover around 80°F (27°C) with lower humidity than the rest of the year. This period works especially well for gorilla trekking since the forest floor stays relatively dry.
Rainy season (March through May, September through November) turns roads into rivers and makes wildlife tracking nearly impossible. Some lodges close entirely during peak rains in April and October. But here's the upside: everything turns impossibly green, waterfalls roar at full capacity, and you'll have the country almost entirely to yourself.
