Czech Republic in March

Good time to visit

March is a reasonable time to visit Czech Republic.

All Months

May through June hits the sweet spot – warm days, blooming gardens, and manageable crowds. Prague's beer gardens reopen, and you can actually enjoy those castle courtyards without fighting for photos. September and October deliver golden autumn colors that transform Bohemian forests into something magical. Plus, harvest season means fresh wine in South Moravia's vineyards around Mikulov. Winter brings Christmas markets and mulled wine, but also gray skies that last for months. If you're coming December through February, pack serious layers and embrace the cozy pub culture. Summer (July-August) sees Prague packed with tour groups, but smaller towns like Telč remain pleasantly quiet. Skip March and November unless you enjoy cold rain and closed attractions. Many castles shut down for the season, and the weather can't decide between winter and spring.
