October through March offers the most comfortable weather, with daytime temperatures in the 70s-80s°F and cool evenings perfect for outdoor exploration. December and January can get surprisingly chilly — pack layers because desert nights drop into the 40s. Summer is brutal. July temperatures regularly hit 110°F, and the combination of heat and high salt content makes floating almost unbearable during midday hours. But summer does have one advantage: you'll have beaches mostly to yourself, and hotel rates drop significantly. Spring brings wildflower blooms to the desert, though they're brief and unpredictable. Avoid Israeli holidays like Passover and Sukkot when domestic tourists pack the region and prices spike. Early morning and late afternoon offer the best floating conditions year-round — the harsh midday sun reflects off the white salt and can burn you in minutes.
