Delhi in August

Great time to visit

August is one of the best months to visit Delhi.

All Months

May through October offers the best weather for outdoor activities, with highs in the 70s-80s and minimal rainfall. But each season has its perks. Summer (June-August) brings perfect hiking weather and festival season. The Delhi Botanic Gardens bloom spectacularly, and you can catch outdoor concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Hotels cost more, and mountain trails get crowded on weekends. Fall (September-October) might be ideal — warm days, cool nights, and aspen trees turning gold in the nearby mountains. The weather stays stable, and summer crowds thin out. Book early for leaf-peeping season. Winter brings skiing season, but Delhi itself stays relatively mild. You'll get snow, but it usually melts within a few days. Hotel rates drop, and you'll have restaurants to yourself. Just pack layers — it might be 60 degrees and sunny one day, then 20 degrees the next. Spring arrives early but unpredictably. March can bring blizzards or 70-degree days, sometimes in the same week. But by May, the weather stabilizes and wildflowers start blooming in the foothills.
