October through April gives you the best weather for walking around outdoors. Summer temperatures hit 115°F, and that LED canopy doesn't provide much relief from the desert sun. December and January offer perfect weather – 60s during the day, 40s at night. You'll need a light jacket for evening, but it's comfortable for hours of people-watching. March brings March Madness crowds and higher hotel rates. October sees perfect weather and Halloween parties. Avoid summer unless you're planning to spend most of your time inside air-conditioned casinos. The pedestrian mall gets brutally hot from June through September. Spring and fall also mean fewer tourists, so you'll get better hotel deals and shorter lines at restaurants.
