Fès-Meknès in April
Great time to visit
April is one of the best months to visit Fès-Meknès.
All Months
March through May gives you perfect weather — warm days around 22°C and cool evenings perfect for rooftop dinners. The almond trees bloom in the surrounding countryside, and the medina feels less claustrophobic with pleasant temperatures.
October and November work just as well. The summer heat finally breaks, but you still get long daylight hours for exploring. Plus, this is olive harvest season in the region — you'll see families bringing their crops to traditional presses.
Avoid July and August unless you enjoy feeling like you're inside an oven. Temperatures hit 40°C, and the medina's narrow alleys trap heat like a furnace. Even locals escape to the coast during these months.
Winter brings rain and surprisingly cold nights — sometimes dropping to 5°C. The mountains around Ifrane even get snow. But hotel prices drop by half, and you'll have major sites almost to yourself.
Ramadan changes everything. Restaurants close during daylight hours, and the evening iftar creates a special energy in the streets. But plan accordingly if you're not observing.
