Fez in November
Great time to visit
November is one of the best months to visit Fez.
All Months
March through May offers perfect weather in Fez. Temperatures hover around 20-25°C, ideal for walking the medina's endless alleys. Spring brings fewer crowds than peak season, and hotel prices stay reasonable. The only downside: occasional April showers.
October and November deliver another sweet spot. The summer heat breaks, but temperatures stay warm enough (18-23°C) for comfortable sightseeing. November particularly shines with clear skies and minimal rainfall. This is when locals emerge after the brutal summer months.
Winter (December-February) can surprise you with cold nights and occasional rain. Medina riads often lack central heating, so pack layers. But crowds thin out dramatically, and you'll have major sights almost to yourself. Daytime temperatures reach 15-18°C — chilly but manageable.
Skip summer unless you handle heat well. July and August see temperatures soar above 35°C, making medina exploration exhausting. The narrow alleys trap heat, and many locals flee to cooler mountain towns. Hotels jack up prices despite the uncomfortable conditions.
Ramadan affects the city's rhythm regardless of season. Restaurants close during daylight hours, and the evening iftar (breaking of the fast) creates a special atmosphere but limits dining options for visitors.
