Galápagos in March
Not the best time
March isn't ideal for Galápagos. Consider a different month.
All Months
Two seasons shape the Galápagos calendar, and both have advantages. The dry season (June to November) brings cooler temperatures, rougher seas, and better visibility for diving. This is mating season for many species - blue-footed boobies dance, sea lions get territorial, and giant tortoises become more active. Expect temperatures around 70°F and occasional drizzle. The warm season (December to May) delivers calmer seas, better snorkeling conditions, and baby animals everywhere. Marine iguanas nest, sea turtles lay eggs, and flamingo populations peak. Temperatures hit 85°F with occasional tropical showers. March through May offers the sweet spot - fewer crowds, great weather, and active wildlife. Avoid September and October if you're prone to seasickness - the seas get rough. Christmas week and Easter bring the highest prices and biggest crowds.
