May through October gives you the best weather, but each season tells a different story. Spring brings wildflowers to nearby Mount Aragats and mild temperatures perfect for walking the historic district. Summer gets hot - think 35°C in July - but the evenings are magical when families emerge for their traditional evening stroll. September and October offer the sweet spot: warm days, cool nights, and harvest season in the surrounding villages. Winter is harsh but authentic - locals huddle in cafes, traditional music sessions happen in cozy venues, and you'll see Gyumri at its most genuine. Just pack serious layers. The city gets about 60cm of snow, and heating can be spotty in older buildings.
