November through April offers the driest weather and clearest mountain views. December and January bring cool temperatures perfect for hiking – pack a jacket for evenings. March and April heat up but still see little rain. The rice planting season runs from May to July, turning the terraces into mirror-like pools that reflect the sky. This creates stunning photos but also means muddy trails and frequent rain. Harvest time in September and October paints the terraces golden, but weather becomes unpredictable. Avoid July and August – heavy rains make hiking dangerous and views disappear behind clouds.
