Iran in December

Not the best time

December isn't ideal for Iran. Consider a different month.

All Months

Spring (March-May) brings perfect weather and blooming gardens. Shiraz's roses peak in May, filling the air with fragrance. This is peak season though - book accommodations early and expect crowds at major sites. Fall (September-November) offers ideal temperatures without the spring crowds. October particularly shines with clear skies and comfortable walking weather. The light during this season makes photography magical. Winter works for southern cities like Shiraz and Kerman, but Tehran and northern regions get cold and snowy. Many mountain sites become inaccessible. But winter means fewer tourists and lower prices. Summer brings brutal heat, especially in desert cities like Yazd and Kerman. Temperatures hit 110°F regularly. If you must visit in summer, plan indoor activities during midday and explore early morning or evening. Ramadan affects travel significantly. Restaurants close during daylight hours, and the pace of life slows. But evenings come alive with special foods and celebrations. Many travelers actually prefer this time for its authentic cultural experience.
