Isaan

Isaan in February

Great time to visit

February is one of the best months to visit Isaan.

All Months

November through February offers the sweet spot — cool, dry weather that makes temple exploring and village wandering actually pleasant. Temperatures hover around 25°C during the day, dropping to comfortable sleeping weather at night. March and April turn brutal. We're talking 40°C heat that makes afternoon sightseeing borderline dangerous. Locals hide indoors between 11am and 4pm for good reason. Rainy season runs May through October, but don't write it off completely. The landscape turns green, waterfalls flow, and accommodation prices drop. Just pack waterproof gear and build flexibility into your schedule. December hits the festival sweet spot. Surin's elephant festival happens in November, while December brings cooler weather perfect for exploring Khmer ruins without melting. Book accommodation early during this peak season — Isaan might be off the beaten path, but it's not undiscovered.
