Jing'an in December

Good time to visit

December is a reasonable time to visit Jing'an.

All Months

April and May deliver Jing'an's sweetest weather. Temperatures hover around 20°C, perfect for temple visits and street food exploration. The plane trees lining the streets burst into fresh green, and you can walk for hours without breaking a sweat. September through November offers the second-best window. October particularly shines – clear skies, comfortable temperatures, and the autumn light makes those glass towers look almost magical. Hotel prices drop slightly after the summer peak. Winter gets overlooked, but January and February have their charms. The crowds thin out, restaurant reservations become easier, and you'll have Jing'an Temple mostly to yourself on weekday mornings. Just pack layers – Shanghai's winter bites with unexpected cold snaps. Skip July and August unless you enjoy swimming through humidity. The combination of heat, crowds, and higher prices makes summer the least appealing time to explore this district.
