Jordan in April

Great time to visit

April is one of the best months to visit Jordan.

All Months

March through May is Jordan's sweet spot. Wildflowers bloom in Wadi Rum, Petra's temperatures hover around 75°F, and you can actually enjoy walking without melting. September through November works equally well. The summer heat breaks, but the Red Sea stays warm enough for diving. October is particularly magic — clear skies for stargazing and comfortable camping weather. Avoid July and August unless you enjoy feeling like a rotisserie chicken. Petra hits 100°F+ and even the Bedouins seek shade. December through February brings surprising cold, especially in desert camps where temperatures drop to near-freezing. Ramadan affects opening hours and restaurant availability, but it's also when Jordan shows its spiritual side most clearly. Just plan around the fasting schedule and respect local customs. Here's the insider timing: visit during Jordan's school holidays (mid-June to early September) only if you love crowds. Otherwise, shoulder seasons offer the best balance of weather and solitude.
