May through September gives you Kosovo at its most accessible. Spring arrives early — by May, wildflowers carpet the Sharr Mountains while temperatures hit a comfortable 20°C. This is perfect hiking weather before summer heat kicks in. July and August see temperatures around 30°C in cities, but mountain areas stay cool. The Dokufest film festival in Prizren every August draws international crowds and books up accommodation fast. September might be Kosovo's sweet spot — harvest season brings wine festivals, comfortable temperatures, and autumn colors in the mountains. Winter can be harsh with snow blocking mountain roads, though Pristina's café culture keeps buzzing year-round. Avoid March and April when weather turns unpredictable and many mountain guesthouses close for repairs.
