November through April offers the best weather — dry, sunny, and temperatures around 25-30°C. This is peak dolphin season too, when low water levels concentrate the dolphins in deeper pools, making sightings more likely. December and January get busy with international visitors, but Kratie never feels crowded. May through October brings monsoon rains and flooding that can make boat trips impossible. The dolphins are harder to spot during high water, and some guesthouses close temporarily. If you do visit during rainy season, bring waterproof gear and expect muddy roads. The upside: fewer tourists and dramatically lower accommodation prices.
