Kruger Region in November

Good time to visit

November is a reasonable time to visit Kruger Region.

All Months

Dry season from April through October delivers the classic safari experience everyone pictures. Animals cluster around water sources, making them easier to spot, and the lack of dense vegetation means better visibility for photography. July and August bring perfect weather but also peak crowds and prices — book way ahead for decent accommodations. May and September hit the sweet spot with good weather, decent wildlife viewing, and slightly lower prices. Summer (November through March) gets hot, humid, and wet, but it's also when many animals give birth, so you'll see lots of babies. The landscape turns lush and green, bird life explodes, and lodge rates drop significantly. Just pack rain gear and accept that some roads might be muddy. Shoulder seasons offer the best balance — April sees the last of the baby animals while October brings the first rains and slightly cooler temperatures. Avoid December and January if you hate crowds, as South African school holidays pack the camps.
