Manhattan - Chelsea in March

Spring through fall gives you the best Chelsea experience. The High Line reopens fully in April after winter maintenance, and the outdoor seating at restaurants makes the neighborhood feel alive. May through June offers perfect weather for gallery hopping — not too hot, not too crowded. September and October bring ideal conditions for walking the elevated park without summer crowds. Gallery season runs strongest from September through May, when new exhibitions open and the art world comes back from summer break. Winter works if you don't mind cold walks between galleries, plus you'll find better hotel deals. But many High Line sections close during snow, and the outdoor restaurant patios disappear. Summer gets crowded — the High Line turns into a tourist parade, and restaurant reservations become impossible without advance planning.
