April through June gives you perfect weather for wandering those cobblestone streets without sweating through your clothes. September through November works just as well — crisp air and fewer crowds than summer. Weekday mornings hit differently here. You'll have galleries mostly to yourself before the crowds descend around noon. Saturdays turn into a zoo, especially when the weather's nice. Everyone and their mother comes to SoHo on Saturday afternoons. Winter can be brutal with wind whipping between buildings, but holiday window displays make it worth bundling up. Just avoid July and August unless you enjoy feeling like you're walking through soup.
