Maritimes in February
Not the best time
February isn't ideal for Maritimes. Consider a different month.
All Months
Summer owns the Maritimes calendar, but each season brings something different to the table. July and August deliver peak everything - warmest weather, busiest attractions, highest prices, and crowds that can make popular spots feel touristy. But the ocean rarely warms above 20°C, so pack layers even in August. June and September offer the sweet spot for many visitors. June brings lupins blooming along roadsides and reasonable accommodation rates, while September delivers harvest season, fall colors starting their show, and water temperatures at their annual peak. October transforms the region into a photographer's dream - maple trees explode in red and gold while cranberry bogs turn crimson. Plus, lobster season peaks in fall, and restaurants offer their best deals before winter hits. Winter isn't written off entirely. Halifax's harbor rarely freezes, Christmas markets pop up in Charlottetown and Fredericton, and cross-country skiing trails crisscross all three provinces. But many coastal attractions close, ferry schedules get reduced, and weather can strand you for days. Spring arrives late and muddy - April and May see everything melting and awakening, but roads can be rough and many seasonal businesses stay shuttered until Victoria Day weekend.
