Mendoza Wine Region in January
Great time to visit
January is one of the best months to visit Mendoza Wine Region.
All Months
Harvest season (February to April) gets all the attention, and for good reason. The vines turn golden, the weather stays warm but not brutal, and many bodegas let you stomp grapes like it's 1823. But here's the thing—everyone knows this. Hotels double their rates and booking a decent restaurant becomes a strategic operation.
October through December offers the sweet spot. Spring weather, fewer crowds, and the vines are lush and green instead of dormant brown sticks. Plus, many wineries offer better deals on tastings and tours.
Winter (June to August) brings snow to the Andes and temperatures that can drop below freezing at night. The upside? Hotel rates plummet, restaurants aren't packed, and there's something romantic about sipping Malbec by a fireplace while snow caps the mountains outside.
Summer (December to February) can be scorching—we're talking 95°F in the shade. But the long days mean you can start tastings early and still catch sunset at 8 PM. Just pace yourself and drink water between wineries.
