Meteora in April

April through June brings wildflowers and perfect hiking weather. The rocks glow golden in spring light, and you won't melt climbing monastery stairs. September and October offer clear skies and fewer crowds — ideal for photography. Summer gets brutally hot with tour buses clogging the narrow roads. Winter brings snow that looks magical but closes some monastery access paths. Sunrise hits the eastern monasteries around 7am in summer, 8am in winter. Golden hour starts two hours before sunset. Plan monastery visits for early morning or late afternoon when the light turns those sandstone towers into something otherworldly. Mondays close most monasteries, so check schedules.
