Mexico in February
Good time to visit
February is a reasonable time to visit Mexico.
All Months
Spring (March-May) brings perfect weather before the summer heat kicks in. Temperatures hover around 75-85°F, and you'll dodge both the winter crowds and hurricane season. Book hotels early though — everyone knows this is prime time.
Fall (September-November) offers the best deals and fewer tourists, but September-October means hurricane risk on the coasts. November hits the sweet spot with great weather and reasonable prices.
Winter (December-February) sees perfect beach weather but also peak prices and crowds. Expect to pay double for hotels in Tulum and Puerto Vallarta. Mexico City stays mild and pleasant, though.
Summer gets brutally hot and humid on the coasts, plus it's hurricane season. But it's also when Mexico comes alive with festivals, and hotel prices drop 40%. The mountains and central highlands stay cooler.
Here's what most guides won't tell you: rainy season (June-September) doesn't mean all-day downpours. Most rain comes in afternoon thunderstorms that clear quickly, leaving everything fresh and green.
