Monteverde Cloud Forest in November

Dry season from December through April offers the clearest weather and best trail conditions. January through March sees the least rainfall, making it prime time for photography and comfortable hiking. But wildlife activity peaks during the transition months of November and May when both resident and migratory species are most active. Avoid September and October - peak rainy season when trails can be impassable and wildlife hunkers down. Early morning visits (7-9 AM) give you the best shot at spotting quetzals, howler monkeys, and other wildlife before tour groups arrive. Afternoon visits work better for plant enthusiasts since the soft light filters beautifully through the canopy, but animal sightings drop significantly after 10 AM.
