April through September gives you the full Neubau experience. Outdoor seating appears on every corner come spring, and the district's numerous courtyards open for events and markets. July and August bring the Lange Nacht der Museen, when galleries stay open until 1 AM for one ticket price. September hits the sweet spot — warm enough for terrace sitting, cool enough for serious vintage hunting without overheating. Winter works too, but half the charm disappears when outdoor life retreats indoors. Many galleries close for August holidays, so check schedules if art's your main draw.
