Nevada in August

Not the best time

August isn't ideal for Nevada. Consider a different month.

All Months

March through May brings perfect weather - 70s in Vegas, snow melting at Tahoe, wildflowers blooming in the desert. October and November deliver the same sweet spot before winter hits. Summer in southern Nevada is brutal - 115°F days in Vegas send locals fleeing to Tahoe or higher elevations. But summer's when Tahoe shines with hiking, swimming, and outdoor concerts. Winter transforms Nevada completely. Tahoe becomes a ski paradise with Heavenly, Northstar, and smaller gems like Diamond Peak. Vegas winter means 60-degree days and cheaper hotel rates. Just know that desert nights drop fast - bring layers even in summer.
