Oktoberfest in December

Oktoberfest 2026 runs September 19 to October 4. Weekends turn into absolute mayhem - think 400,000 people crammed into beer tents. Weekdays, especially Tuesday through Thursday, offer a more civilized experience where you can actually get a table. The first weekend draws locals and serious beer drinkers. The second weekend brings international crowds and peak chaos. Go early in the day (tents open at 10 AM) to snag seats and experience the festival before it gets completely wild. October 3rd, German Unity Day, is particularly packed. The weather can swing from sunny and warm to cold and rainy, so pack layers. September usually offers better weather than early October.
