October through April offers the most comfortable weather, with daytime temperatures around 20-25°C and cool nights perfect for desert camping. December and January can get surprisingly cold - pack warm layers for evening desert trips. Summer temperatures regularly exceed 40°C, making outdoor exploration miserable between 11am and 5pm. But summer also means fewer crowds and lower hotel prices. The shoulder months of October, November, March, and April provide the sweet spot of good weather and manageable tourist numbers.
