Pantanal in June
Great time to visit
June is one of the best months to visit Pantanal.
All Months
May through September is prime time — dry season means concentrated wildlife around shrinking water sources. Animals gather at remaining ponds and rivers, making photography incredible. Roads stay passable and mosquitoes calm down. July and August bring the coolest temperatures, perfect for all-day activities. But here's the trade-off: this is also peak season, so book lodges early and expect higher prices. April and October work as shoulder months — fewer crowds, decent wildlife viewing, and better rates. The wet season from November to March transforms everything. Roads flood, many lodges close, and wildlife spreads out across vast temporary lakes. But if you can handle the logistics, you'll see the Pantanal at its most dramatic — waterfalls appear overnight, birds nest everywhere, and the landscape turns impossibly green. Just know that many areas become completely inaccessible.
