April through September brings cooler, drier weather – perfect for exploring without melting into the pavement. Temperatures hover around 70-80°F (20-25°C) during these months, compared to sweltering 90-100°F (32-38°C) summers. July can get surprisingly chilly, especially at night, so pack a jacket. The rainy season (October-March) means afternoon thunderstorms and humid conditions, but also fewer tourists and lower accommodation prices. If you're planning to visit the Jesuit ruins or do any outdoor activities, stick to the dry season. Carnival in February-March brings Encarnación to life with parades and street parties, but book accommodation well in advance. December and January are peak summer – hot, humid, and when many businesses close for extended holidays.
