Pudong in August
Not the best time
August isn't ideal for Pudong. Consider a different month.
All Months
April through May and September through November are your sweet spots. Spring brings comfortable temperatures around 20-25°C and manageable humidity. The cherry blossoms in Century Park bloom in early April.
Fall is even better – clear skies mean the best skyline photography from the Bund. October and November rarely see rain, and temperatures hover around 15-22°C. Perfect for walking between the towers.
Summer is brutal. July and August hit 35°C with 80% humidity. The smog gets thick, and those Instagram skyline shots turn gray and hazy. Winter isn't terrible – around 5-10°C – but the constant drizzle makes everything feel dreary.
Avoid Chinese New Year (January/February) and Golden Week (early October) when domestic tourism explodes. The Oriental Pearl Tower queues stretch for hours, and restaurant reservations become impossible.
