Red Light District in June
Great time to visit
June is one of the best months to visit Red Light District.
All Months
April through October gives you the best weather for wandering these outdoor streets. Summer brings crowds but also the longest days - useful when you're exploring narrow alleys. The King's Day weekend in late April turns the entire district orange and absolutely chaotic. If you're here for the culture rather than the party scene, visit Tuesday through Thursday when tour groups thin out. Winter has its own appeal - the red lights reflect off wet cobblestones, and the brown cafés become even more inviting. But some outdoor attractions close, and the canals can freeze, making walking treacherous. Early morning (before 10 AM) offers the most authentic experience. You'll see shopkeepers opening up, locals grabbing coffee, and the neighborhood functioning as an actual community rather than a tourist attraction.
