Red Sea Dive Sites in May

Good time to visit

May is a reasonable time to visit Red Sea Dive Sites.

All Months

October through April delivers perfect diving conditions. Water temperatures hover around 24-26°C, visibility peaks at 40+ meters, and air temperatures stay comfortable at 20-28°C. December and January see the clearest water but also the most crowds and highest prices. March and April offer the sweet spot – great conditions with fewer tourists. Summer diving is possible but brutal topside. Air temperatures hit 40°C+ and humidity makes surface intervals miserable. But here's the upside: summer brings whale sharks to southern sites like Marsa Alam. May and September work as shoulder seasons with decent conditions and better prices. Avoid July and August unless you're chasing specific marine life. Wind patterns matter too – northern winds in winter can close northern sites, while southern winds affect Brothers Islands access.
