January and February are peak season for good reason. You can hike in the Asir Mountains or explore Hegra's tombs without melting. But here's what nobody tells you - spring sandstorms can disrupt flights and coat everything in fine dust. Summer is brutal. June through September sees temperatures above 45°C in most regions. The only exception is the Asir Mountains around Abha, where elevations keep things relatively cool. Ramadan adds another layer of complexity - restaurants close during daylight hours, though hotels still serve guests. The holy month creates a unique atmosphere if you're prepared for it.
