Saudi Arabia in September

Not the best time

September isn't ideal for Saudi Arabia. Consider a different month.

All Months

Winter transforms Saudi Arabia into a completely different country. November through March brings perfect weather - sunny days around 25°C and cool nights that make desert camping actually enjoyable. January and February are peak season for good reason. You can hike in the Asir Mountains or explore Hegra's tombs without melting. But here's what nobody tells you - spring sandstorms can disrupt flights and coat everything in fine dust. Summer is brutal. June through September sees temperatures above 45°C in most regions. The only exception is the Asir Mountains around Abha, where elevations keep things relatively cool. Ramadan adds another layer of complexity - restaurants close during daylight hours, though hotels still serve guests. The holy month creates a unique atmosphere if you're prepared for it.
