March through May brings perfect weather – highs in the 70s and 80s without summer's crushing humidity. This is azalea season in Mobile, when the Historic District explodes in pink and white blooms. Fall (September through November) offers similar temperatures plus fewer crowds and lower hotel rates. Summer means beach weather but also 90-degree heat, afternoon thunderstorms, and peak tourist prices. Hurricane season runs June through November, with September and October being the riskiest months. Winter stays mild (50s and 60s) but beach activities lose their appeal. Spring break crowds descend in March, especially around Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Book early for Mardi Gras season (January-March) in Mobile – it's the third-largest Mardi Gras celebration in the US.
