Southern Coast in June
Great time to visit
June is one of the best months to visit Southern Coast.
All Months
April through October offers the most reliable weather, with temperatures ranging from 15-22°C and minimal rainfall. But each season brings its own character to the Southern Coast.
Summer months (June through August) bring crowds and higher accommodation prices, but also the warmest ocean temperatures and longest days. Sunset doesn't happen until after 8 PM in July, giving you extra hours to explore beaches and hiking trails.
Shoulder seasons deliver the best value. April and May bring wildflowers to coastal meadows and migrating whales to offshore waters. September and October offer warm, stable weather with fewer visitors and lower prices. Many locals consider October the secret best month — ocean temperatures remain warm from summer heating, but tourist numbers drop significantly.
Winter brings dramatic storms that create spectacular wave watching opportunities, especially from the safety of Coastal Ridge's blufftop cafes. Just remember that several hiking trails close during storm season, and some restaurants reduce their hours or close entirely between November and March.
