Table Mountain in June
Not the best time
June isn't ideal for Table Mountain. Consider a different month.
All Months
October through April gives you the best weather window. Summer months (December-February) are warmest but also busiest. The cable car queues can hit 2-hour waits during December holidays.
March and April are sweet spots – still warm, fewer crowds, and the notorious Cape Town wind calms down slightly. October and November work well too, though you might catch some lingering winter weather.
Early morning is golden. Get to the cable car by 8am or start hiking at sunrise. You'll beat the crowds and often catch the mountain before the afternoon wind picks up. Plus, morning light on the city is magical.
Avoid winter (May-September) unless you're prepared for cold, wet conditions. The tablecloth cloud rolls in frequently, visibility drops to zero, and hiking becomes genuinely dangerous. The cable car shuts down more often too.
