Toledo

Toledo in July

Not the best time

July isn't ideal for Toledo. Consider a different month.

All Months

April through June brings perfect weather and manageable crowds. The city blooms with spring festivals, and you can actually enjoy walking the cobblestone streets without sweating through your shirt. May hits the sweet spot — warm days, cool evenings, and the Corpus Christi procession if you time it right. September and October offer another excellent window. The summer crowds thin out, but temperatures stay comfortable for all that uphill walking. October brings harvest season to the surrounding vineyards, and many restaurants feature seasonal game dishes. July and August get brutal. Toledo sits in the middle of the Castilian plain with little shade, and temperatures regularly hit 40°C (104°F). The narrow streets trap heat like an oven. If you must visit in summer, start early and take a long siesta. Winter can be magical but cold. The city looks stunning dusted with snow, and you'll have most attractions to yourself. Just pack layers — those medieval buildings weren't designed for central heating.
