Torres del Paine in October

Good time to visit

October is a reasonable time to visit Torres del Paine.

All Months

November through March offers your best weather window, but even then expect wind gusts up to 120 kilometers per hour. December and January bring 18-hour daylight and wildflower blooms, but also peak crowds — book refugios six months ahead. February offers the most stable weather with fewer people. March brings autumn colors as the lenga forests turn gold and red. November can be unpredictable with late snow, but you'll have the trails mostly to yourself. Avoid April through October unless you're experienced in winter mountaineering. The park stays open year-round, but most refugios close from May to September. Summer temperatures range from 5°C at night to 20°C during the day. Always pack for four seasons regardless of when you visit.
