Cherry blossom season (late March to early May) transforms Ueno Park into Tokyo's biggest hanami party, but expect crowds of 100,000+ people on peak weekends. Autumn (September-November) brings comfortable temperatures and fewer tourists - perfect for museum-hopping without the summer heat or winter chill. Winter months see the lowest hotel prices but some outdoor attractions close early. Spring and fall offer the best weather for walking between museums and exploring Yanaka's outdoor markets. Avoid Golden Week (late April-early May) unless you enjoy fighting crowds for every museum ticket and restaurant seat.
