Wave Rock in August

April through October gives you the best weather - warm days, cool nights, and minimal rain. July and August can get chilly, especially for sunrise shoots, but the clear skies make up for it. Spring brings wildflowers to the surrounding bushland, turning the wheat belt into a carpet of color. Summer gets brutal - we're talking 40°C days with no shade. The rock becomes untouchable by midday. Early morning or late afternoon work best for photos anyway. The golden hour hits that curved face perfectly around 6pm in winter, 7pm in summer. Avoid school holidays if you want the place to yourself - Easter and July holidays bring the crowds.
