But this is when locals embrace the night — dinner at 10 PM, bars at midnight, clubs at 3 AM. If you can handle the heat, you'll experience authentic Madrid nightlife. Winter brings short days and temperatures around 5-10°C. But museum crowds thin out, hotel prices drop 30-40%, and Christmas markets fill Plaza Mayor. The Prado, Reina Sofía, and Thyssen-Bornemisza become your best friends during January's cold snaps. Avoid August if possible — half the city shuts down as locals flee to the coast.
